"Hide and Seek"
Human psychology fascinates me, and it is reflected in my art and how I make a connection between my sculptures, viewers and myself. Making analogies helps me to conceptualize ideas and understand what my art is about.
Every one of us, when we were kids, played Hide and Seek game and ecstatic and confusing emotions overwhelmed our minds - a desire not to be found and a fear of being left behind. I explore the duality of human psyche. The "girl" is simply a metaphor of an inner child. Surrealistic images of a city with broken and distorted perspective, different views of inside and out, a human figure emerging from a city street are scenes that I have combined with various emotions-the idea of instability and the sense of being lost.
A constant dissatisfaction with flat canvas that is limited by its frame, and the curiosity that is hidden behind have transformed my art. Painting on clay is not a decoration! It is a harmonious marriage between volumetric form and two-dimensional surface treatment. I am creating an illusion of the world hidden inside and exposing it to the viewer.
